Siemens Healthineers Debuts Trackerless Guidance Software for Spine Surgery

The software supports K-wire placement for pedicle screws by fusing preoperative CT or intraoperative CBCT scans with intraoperative X-rays.

Siemens Healthineers announced that it has incorporated Vuze guidance software for spinal surgery into its Cios Spin C-arm system. The company plans to expand the integrated to its other 2D mobile, 3D mobile, and 3D robotic C-arms in the future.

The software supports K-wire placement for pedicle screws by fusing preoperative CT or intraoperative CBCT scans with intraoperative X-rays, eliminating the need for external tracking hardware such as optical cameras, instrument markers, or patient-mounted reference frames.

Vuze spinal guidance software provides intraoperative guidance for K-wire placement during pedicle screw procedures, combining preoperative 3D planning with intraoperative fluoroscopy for continuous image guidance. The trackerless technology integrates with Siemens Healthineers’ 2D mobile, 3D mobile, and 3D robotic C-arms used in operating rooms worldwide.

Siemens Healthineers acquired Vuze last year following a long-term collaboration between the companies.
